About
How it all began
Sharon Diane Coker founded Tender Touch Design in 1981, after attending Rancocas Valley Vocational School for Upholstery and Transworld Designs for Interior Decorating while living on the East Coast. The business grew rapidly from window treatments and upholstery to include wallpaper hanging and painting, and, later on, handcrafted accessories such as table and wall decorations. In her ever-expanding interest to create a fully integrated color design, she began creating custom pillows, shower curtains, bed coverings, table cloths and runners. Over the years, her many projects have included furniture and room renovations, using faux painting, crackle paint, and frosted glass windows.
Sharon specializes in color coordinating the materials of a room and matching every accessory with a design scheme that reflects your needs, personality and tastes. She prides herself in honesty, attention to detail and a get-it-right attitude that assures her clients are receiving a one of a kind design. “I love being creative and helping people find exactly what they want. Each room, regardless of style needs to feel balanced and interesting. No matter how big or small the budget, I will work with them until it’s right.”
Sharon has also donated her time and talents to design and costume-making for stage productions for the last 30 years.
